The VaClay series stems from the artist’s unique “vacuum forming technique.” By manipulating internal air pressure with a valve, the object’s hardness and shape can be easily modified, allowing it to be reshaped repeatedly. It does not have a fixed final form; instead, it functions as a constantly adaptable medium that displays various states with each squeeze and movement by the user. This creates a relationship shaped by the material, the body, and the user.

Fascinated by relational aesthetics in material forms, his work investigates the possibility of materials as “initial conditions for interactive objects.” This exhibition features the VaClay series, which uses the material’s “re-moldable” quality to create living scenarios in which “users act as creators.”
