《Beeping Tempo Ready Go》
Focusing on “scanning mobile barcodes”—a key part of Taiwan’s checkout process—this work transforms the mechanical beep into a rhythmic cue for movement. Using an optical scanner and an on-screen video coach, the typical convenience store checkout becomes an acrobatic fitness routine, turning a mundane shopping scene into an engaging bodily experience. This rhythmic reinterpretation choreographs passive consumption as an active, participatory bodily practice.

CHEN Cheng-Wei
-
Born in Taipei in 2001, Chen Cheng-Wei graduated from the Department of New Media Art at Taipei National University of the Arts and now works as a lens-based artist. His primary media include moving images and 3D animation, often paired with spatial installations to create immersive environments. Drawing inspiration from everyday experiences, Chen employs a subtle, slightly awkward deadpan humor as his storytelling style—habitually presenting absurd ideas within formal, serious frameworks to produce striking irony.
